I didn't build a brand. I built a tribute.

The Wild East exists for the people who feel something shift when they cross into the Victorian High Country.

For the ones who know the rivers, tracks, huts, snow gums, high plains and hard-won views are more than a weekend backdrop.

Meet Josiah - our founder

"The first time I visited the High Country, something changed."

I went up there expecting views, tracks and a bit of adventure. I came back with a deep love for the place — and the feeling that I had left a little piece of myself behind in the mountains.

That is what the High Country does. It is a place of extremes: extreme weather, extreme adventure, extreme beauty — and, somehow, extreme peace. One moment it can feel harsh, remote and unforgiving. The next, it can be the quietest place you have ever stood.

The Wild East grew out of that feeling. Not from a boardroom idea, but from the pull of a place that stays with you long after you leave.

Original designs

Created for this brand, this landscape, this community.

Real places

Dargo, Hotham, Eildon, Mitta Mitta, Wonnangatta and beyond.

Where it started.

The Wild East began with a simple realisation: the Victorian High Country is one of Australia's most extraordinary places, and it still feels unknown outside the people who actually go there.

Mention the High Country to someone who has camped at Wonnangatta, fished the Mitta Mitta at first light, ridden alpine dirt, driven Blue Rag Range or stood above the treeline in winter, and you see it immediately — recognition. Belonging.

We built this for those people, and for the people who have not found it yet.

Why Wild East?

The American West has its mythology: cattle, riders, frontier towns and country that shaped the people who moved through it. The Victorian High Country has all of that and then some.

The cattlemen rode these mountains long before the roads. The brumbies still move across the high plains. The rivers still run cold. The huts still matter.

Same rugged spirit. Different hemisphere. Better coffee at the bottom of the mountain.

Our vision

A Victoria where the High Country is known, loved and defended by people who have experienced it firsthand.

The mission is simple: make apparel that honours the people who adventure here, then use the brand to invite more people into the country — because people protect the places they love.

What We Stand For

Experience over spectacle

The High Country should be walked, ridden, paddled, skied, crossed and sat with — not just admired through a computer screen.

Community first

For the 4WD clubs, fishing guides, ski patrollers, hut caretakers, riders, hunters, hikers, paddlers and locals who keep this country alive.

Specific over generic

Not anonymous outdoor graphics. We make designs that know the difference between a track, a river, a hut and a place worth earning.

Not fast fashion. Not tourist merch.

Every Wild East garment is designed to carry a place, not just a logo. It should feel right at camp, at the pub after a long day, on the road home, and years later when it has faded into something better.

This is apparel for people who know the High Country — and an invitation for everyone else to get up there and find out what the fuss is about.

The Wild East is waiting

If you know it, wear it. If you don't, find someone who does and make them take you.
